About the role:

As a Data Science Team Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the development and management of internal and external data across Onecom and Onecom Partners. You’ll lead a talented team of data engineers, driving technical excellence, architectural decisions, and continuous improvement. What makes you a great fit:

• 5+ years’ experience in data engineering or a similar role
• Proficient in Python, SQL, and modern data stack tools
• Strong understanding of ETL processes and data modelling
• Experience with dbt, Apache Airflow, and Google BigQuery
• Familiarity with Azure and Google Cloud Platform
• Skilled in version control (Git) and CI/CD practices
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Proven leadership experience in mentoring and managing technical teams
• Passionate about continuous learning and innovation

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, supporting technical growth and career development
• Define and prioritize team goals aligned with business strategy
• Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and delivery timelines
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Establish and maintain coding standards, processes, and best practices
• Conduct performance evaluations and identify training opportunities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes
• Design and implement efficient data models and pipelines
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across systems
• Monitor and optimize performance of data infrastructure
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement across the data function
