Join our Team as a Shopify Developer - Site Launch & 3rd Party FinTech Integration
Location: Gurgaon
Hours: UK Shift
Employment Type: Project based
About the role: We are seeking an expert Shopify Developer to manage the entire lifecycle of our new e-commerce initiative: launching a site optimised for Mobile Hardware products and integrating a critical, custom 3rd Party Payment Extension with our finance partner.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role requiring deep technical expertise in both Shopify setup/configuration and custom payment gateway development.
Phase 1: Initial Shopify Site Setup & Mobile Hardware Configuration
The developer will be responsible for building the foundational store infrastructure and optimising it specifically for selling mobile hardware and electronics.
Core Responsibilities:
- Store Setup & Configuration: Configure all foundational store settings, including domain, shipping zones, taxes, and legal policy templates.
- Theme Customisation: Select and heavily customize a high-performance, mobile-optimised Shopify theme suitable for showcasing detailed technical hardware products.
- Product Data Modelling: Design and implement a robust product taxonomy (collections, tags, product types) optimised for hardware. Set up variants and custom fields to clearly display technical specifications (e.g., memory, processor, battery) and manage complex inventory attributes (colour, storage capacity, network).
- App Integration: Install and configure essential third-party apps for detailed product filtering, customer reviews, and potential warranty/insurance integration.
- UX Optimisation: Ensure the site provides an excellent user experience, focusing on clear navigation, high-resolution product imagery, and effective display of product specifications.
Phase 2: Custom 3rd Party Payment Extension Development
The primary technical challenge is designing, developing, testing, and deploying a secure and seamless custom payment gateway extension that fully integrates our finance option into the Shopify checkout flow.
Technical Requirements:
- Payment Option Presentation: Seamlessly present and offer our finance partner's option within the standard Shopify checkout process.
- Data Serialisation & Transmission: Securely collect and transmit comprehensive cart and customer data to the finance partner's API, including:
- Cart Details: Product Name, Quantity (Qty), SKU, and Price.
- Customer Details: Customer Name and Contact Information.
- API Interaction & Issuance: Integrate with and issue the required calls to the 3rd Party API endpoints for initiating the finance application.
- Redirection URL Retrieval: Successfully retrieve the Finance Redirection URL from the partner's API response.
- Redirection Handling: Return the retrieved URL to the checkout page and launch the customer to the finance partner's external application environment.
- Post-Application Return & Cart Management: Upon receiving the call back from the partner (success, failure, or cancellation), securely handle the response and, based on the outcome, return the customer to the Shopify cart and update the order status accordingly.
- Compliance: Ensure the entire solution meets all technical, security, and compliance standards set by Shopify and the finance partner.
What makes you a great fit:
- 5+ years of experience in Shopify theme and app development.
- Mandatory proven experience building or integrating custom 3rd party payment gateways for Shopify, with deep knowledge of the payment gateway API lifecycle.
- Expert-level proficiency with Shopify's APIs (Admin API, Storefront API), Liquid, and AJAX.
- Proven experience setting up and launching Shopify stores for complex physical, technical, or electronics hardware (portfolio examples strongly preferred).
- Deep understanding of variant and inventory management best practices for products with multiple attributes (e.g., colour, storage capacity).
- Strong experience with RESTful APIs, OAuth 2.0, and secure data transmission protocols.
Perks for our People:

- Other Leave: 7 days casual leave, 7 days sick leave
